Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and related components for heavy construction equipment and trucks
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues with diesel-powered vehicles and equipment
- Inspect, test, and repair hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and cylinders
- Fabricate and install parts as needed to ensure proper functioning of diesel engines
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to complete repairs
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and services performed
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role
- Drivers License
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, including Caterpillar models
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic systems
- Familiarity with industrial equipment such as cranes and other heavy machinery
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills to effectively communicate with clients and colleagues
Please note that this position requires the ability to lift heavy objects, work in various weather conditions, and potentially work in tight or confined spaces. A valid driver's license is also required.
