Location: Charleston,SC 29409 (just NW of Downtown CHS, off Moultrie St & Jones Ave)

Working Hours: 1st and 2nd Shift availableshifts offer flexibility and include daytime, nighttime, and weekend

availability.

Pay Rate: $17.50/hr

Job Description:

As a Cook employed by LGC, you will have the opportunity to showcase your culinary talents by preparing and presenting dishes that meet our high standards of taste, quality, and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation: Prepare and cook a variety of menu items following established recipes and cooking techniques.

Ensure all dishes are made to order and meet our quality standards.

Menu Development: Collaborate with the head chef or sous chef to contribute to menu planning, recipe development, and the creation of seasonal specials.

Quality Control: Monitor the freshness and quality of ingredients and take responsibility for maintaining kitchen equipment and utensils in excellent condition.

Timely Execution: Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of dishes during service

hours.

Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation standards, including proper food handling, storage, and

cleanliness of workstations.

Teamwork: Work collaboratively with other kitchen team members, including sous chefs, line cooks, and dishwashers, to maintain a smooth and efficient kitchen operation

Adaptability: Be flexible and able to adjust to changes in the menu, kitchen procedures, and special dietary requests from customers.

Qualifications:

Previous cooking experience in a university/cafeteria setting REQUIRED

Culinary training or degree from a culinary school is a plus but not required.

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, knife skills, and food preparation methods.

Attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing dishes.

Must be willing to complete a background check

Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
