Description Our client is looking to add a Legal Assistant in Charleston, South Carolina, to their team. The firm is warm and welcoming and offers above-standard benefits, including free parking. In this role, you will be responsible for drafting and revising legal documents, preparing trial materials, and maintaining legal files with utmost confidentiality.Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate contact information, including phone calls, voicemail messages, emails, and other tasks Oversee the scheduling of trial dates, hearings, depositions, and discovery schedules, ensuring that all important dates are accurately recorded and reminders are set up Handle the logistical needs for client meetings, depositions, and hearings, including online calendaring with courts, booking of court reporters, and handling travel accommodations and reimbursements Draft, revise, and proo legal documents and correspondence to ensure accuracy and consistency Prepare hearing, trial, and deposition notebooks and exhibits, ensuring that all materials are ready and organized for use Assist with the electronic filing of pleadings, exhibits, and other legal documents to ensure they are accurately recorded and easy to accessRequirements Qualifications: Applicant must possess a strong proficiency in calendaring, able to manage and coordinate schedules effectively. Candidate should have substantial experience with e-Filing, demonstrating the ability to prepare, submit and manage electronic legal documents efficiently. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion is necessary. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook is expected. Strong organizational and multitasking skills are essential. Prior experience in a law firm or legal department is preferred.
