Assistant Professor SOM/OB/GYN Generalist (12303)The department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Robert C. Byrd Health Sciences Center of the West Virginia University-Charleston Division, is recruiting for a full-time non-tenure academic faculty position. Title .and.amp; Rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.The position will focus on a clinical practice and academic responsibilities including teaching residents/medical students.The physician's role shall include a mentor in training for 12 residents as well as approximately 40 medical students that rotate through the Department of obstetrics and Gynecology throughout the year.Actual classroom teaching involves presenting lectures to the resident staff and medical students.The generalist will offer a full line of Women's Health Services, including, Obstetrical and Gynecological care to the southern West Virginia community.Research opportunities in the area of Obstetrics and Gynecology are encouraged.Responsibilities will include clinical and educational activities.The position will devote 85% to clinical effort and 15% to educational effort.QualificationsThe successful candidate must be:MD, DO DegreeBoard Certified/Board Eligible in Obstetrics and Gynecology.Have the ability to obtain an active and unencumbered West Virginia medical license and staff privileges at Charleston Area Medical Center.West Virginia University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and the recipient of an NSF ADVANCE award for gender equity.
