Job Title: Girls Camp Assistant Teacher

Duration: 3 weeks (July 22nd to August 9th)

Location: Charleston, SC

Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (Monday to Friday)

Compensation: $1500 for 3 weeks

Job Description:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Girls Camp Assistant Teachers for a 3-week summer camp program catering to girls aged 10-16. As an Assistant Teacher, you will play a vital role in empowering and educating young girls in various areas including study skills, self-confidence, basic financial management, and cultural awareness.

Responsibilities:

Assist in Teaching: Collaborate with the lead teacher to deliver engaging and interactive lessons on study skills, self-confidence building, and basic financial management. Utilize creative teaching methods to ensure that concepts are understood and retained by campers.

Supervision and Support: Provide supervision and support to campers during scheduled activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times. Foster a positive and inclusive camp environment where campers feel supported and encouraged to participate.

Cultural Tours: Accompany campers on cultural tours and excursions to explore the rich heritage and history of Charleston. Facilitate discussions and activities related to cultural awareness and appreciation.

Activity Planning: Assist in planning and organizing camp activities, including games, crafts, and team-building exercises. Tailor activities to promote skill development, self-expression, and personal growth among campers.

Role Model: Serve as a positive role model for campers, demonstrating confidence, empathy, and respect in all interactions. Encourage campers to embrace challenges, celebrate achievements, and develop a growth mindset.

Qualifications:

Previous experience working with children or adolescents in an educational or camp setting preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.

Knowledge or experience in teaching study skills, self-confidence building, or basic financial management is an asset.

Enthusiasm for working with diverse groups of girls and promoting cultural awareness and appreciation.

First aid and CPR certification (preferred but not required).
