The Candidate Hydromechanical Engineer will assist the Project Engineer in the design and analysis of hydromechanical systems, from conceptualization to detailed design. This includes gates, penstocks, valves, pumps, and associated hydraulic structures for water and wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, dams, and hydropower facilities.The Candidate Hydromechanical Engineer will also participates in all aspects of the Candidate Programme, gaining hands-on experience while assisting the Engineer and the broader team in developing design information. This role supports the transition from student to professional by building analytical, technical, business, and interpersonal skills.
 
Technical Excellence:Develops designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and project models as per discipline-specific requirements.Works on technical drawings and 3D models under the supervision of an experienced Engineer.Assists with the design process by applying engineering and technical knowledge to ensure high-quality outputs within project timelines.Performs work under supervision, ensuring adherence to agreed-upon budgets and schedules.When required, collects and analyses information from specific discipline and interdisciplinary project BIM models.Uses engineering software tools (e.g., BIM, AutoCAD, Revit or equivalent) for hydromechanical system design and analysis.Supports the selection and specification of hydromechanical equipment, including gates, valves, and pumps, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.Assists in calculations related to hydromechanical systems.Coordinates with other discipline Engineers to ensure seamless integration of hydromechanical components within multidisciplinary projects.Participates in design progress and coordination meetings, contributing to discussions and technical problem-solving.Checks and ensures the quality of model production by BIM/CAD teams for accuracy and adherence to design instructions.Actively seeks information, opportunities to contribute, and ways to enhance efficiencies and effectiveness.Supports feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical reports related to hydromechanical equipment and infrastructure.Contributes to troubleshooting and optimization of existing hydromechanical systems.
