SUMMARY:The Billing Specialist position, as part of our Centralized Billing Unit (CBU) will work closely with servicers, advisors and our HUB enterprise centralized accounting teams to handle multiple processes surrounding agency bill transactions and other accounting related tasks. This Billing Specialist will support all of these functions for the department(s) or location(s) for Commercial Lines, Personal Lines and Employee Benefits. Will also provide professional, courteous service to our HUB colleagues and display drive, determination and self-motivation to follow process and resolve issues as they arise.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Invoices all agency bill items for the Carolinas region, including new business, renewals, endorsements, audits, consulting fees, etc.

Follows set workflows for all agency invoicing

Review account set up in agency management system to ensure critical fields are set up appropriately before invoicing

Review and update commission data in agency management system for all parties relevant to commission information

Work with our HUB Financial Center (HFC) to review and correct all discrepancies

Work with payables team to expedite corrections and carrier payments to avoid cancellation notices

Work to resolve accounting activities created as a result of the team’s work efforts

Track aged receivables and work with advisors and servicers on collection timing

Work with advisors and servicers to resolve any internal billing errors in agency management systems to ensure they are paid correctly

Generate invoices/statements in Epic for distribution

Review monthly NOCs & issues

Other duties as related to direct bill transactions, corrections and reports

Supports team with regards to anty M&A responsibilities

Champions communication of goals, vision, and procedures developed by the leadership teams

Prepares reports for management as required

Other accounting duties as assigned which may be outside of CBU duties

EDUCATION, LICENSING OR CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

2+ years of experience in accounting/finance related field

Four-year college degree preferred

Insurance industry knowledge preferred, but not required

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

Superior customer service and problem-solving skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)

Detail-oriented self-starter

Significant skill in handling competing demands and projects

Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize and delegate responsibility

Mastery of virtual technology, including meeting scheduling, video display and screen sharing

Relevant Insurance licenses per state/regional statutes, preferred, but may not be required
