SUMMARY: The transporter safety transports patients of all ages throughout the facility at the direction of the Patient Placement Coordinator (PPC) or Patient Placement Nurse (PPN). SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES
Demonstrates the ability to make decisions appropriate to job responsibilities in a timely manner.
Transports patients to ancillary departments or units as indicated in a safe and expeditious manner.
Responds to patient care requests in a timely manner and/or notifies the charge nurse to follow-up.
Informs PPC or PPN of patient/family concerns and any issues which need attention.
Follow and enforce all hospital policies, including Infection Control and Safety Procedures.
Ensures stretchers have a full tank of oxygen located on them for transport
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
High School Diploma or GED.
Must obtain BLS certification within one (1) year of hire and maintain.
Preferred:
Experience: Good communication skills and can properly lift/transfer patients.
