Description Job Description:We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cable Technician to join our team in Anderson, SC. The Cable Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting cable television, internet, and telephone services for residential and commercial customers. This role requires strong technical skills, knowledge of industry standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.Key Responsibilities:

Installation:

Install coaxial, twisted pair, and fiber optic cables for cable television, internet, and telephone services according to industry standards and specifications.

Mount and install equipment such as cable modems, routers, and set-top boxes at customer premises.

Ensure proper grounding and bonding of cables and equipment to meet safety and regulatory requirements.

Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on existing cable systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.

Test and troubleshoot cable systems to identify and resolve signal loss, noise, and other issues.

Replace defective cables, connectors, and equipment as needed to restore service.

Documentation:

Document installation and maintenance activities, including cable routes, equipment configurations, and test results, for record-keeping and future reference.

Update customer records and service tickets with accurate and detailed information regarding service calls and repairs.

Customer Service:

Provide excellent customer service by addressing customer inquiries, resolving service issues, and explaining service features and options.

Educate customers on proper use and maintenance of cable equipment and services.

Safety:

Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.

Follow proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials, such as coaxial cable shielding and insulation.

Requirements

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or training is preferred.

Proven experience as a Cable Technician or similar role in the telecommunications industry.

Strong knowledge of cable television, internet, and telephone systems, including cable types, connectors, and signal levels.

Familiarity with cable installation tools and equipment, such as cable strippers, crimpers, and signal meters.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Valid driver's license and clean driving record.

Ability to work at heights and in outdoor environments in varying weather conditions.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations as needed.
