Job Description SummaryThe Strategic Initiatives Specialist, Medical Affairs for BD Surgery will serve as a pivotal leader within the Medical Affairs department, focusing on developing strategic scientific market presence for the P4HB brands. This role requires a dynamic individual with exceptional relationship-building skills, a strong network within the physician and industry communities, and a proven track record in KOL development. The successful candidate will be a brand ambassador for P4HB, ensuring the highest level of compliance and support from a team of physicians and industry partners. Champion the BD Surgery products for Advanced Repair and Reconstruction (AR&R) within the medical and surgical communities.

Uphold and enhance the reputation of BD through strategic initiatives and professional conduct and compliance.

Network and Relationship Building:

Develop and maintain strong relationships with key opinion leaders, physicians, and industry stakeholders.

Develop and nurture strong relationships with KOLs, physicians, and industry stakeholders to support the AR&R product portfolio.

Also act as a connector between Medical Affairs, the PRS Navigator Team and the PRS Market Development team to ensure collaborative efforts in supporting the existing customer base.

Maintain active involvement in relevant medical conferences and associations, promoting a compliant, on-label approach to customer engagement.

Provide support and strategic guidance across domestic and international markets, with travel expectations of 75% or greater.

Drive Impactful Value Proposition:

Drive strategic initiatives that align with BD Surgery’s goals, identifying and leveraging new opportunities to enhance the value proposition of the AR&R product portfolio.

Exceptional Relationship Skills:

Cultivate partnerships with key medical societies and professional organizations, ensuring BD’s participation and influence in supporting the scientific and educational needs of the AR&R portfolio.

Leadership:

Lead, build, and maintain a high-performing team of physicians. KOLs and industry partners who support the AR&R product portfolio.

Ensure 100% compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards.

Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement strategic plans that drive the success of the P4HB brand.

Tactical deliverables include organizing KOL advisory boards, focus groups, participating in medical society conferences, and providing scientific support for society-led initiatives and guidelines.

Continuously monitor the effectiveness of strategic initiatives, making necessary adjustments to achieve desired outcomes.

Ensure compliance with all regulatory and ethical standards, both domestically and internationally.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MD) preferred.

Minimum of 10 years of experience in the medical device, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industry.

3-5 years of proven experience in Plastic Reconstructive Surgery

Proven experience in strategic planning, relationship management, and revenue generation.

Strong network in the plastic and reconstructive space; the physician, medical & academic community.

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Demonstrated ability to stay informed about industry trends and societal developments.
