We are looking to add a skilled mason to our team here at Grandscapes. We are a full service landscape company located in Wakefield, Rhode Island. We have been servicing all of southern Rhode Island and Washington County for over 35 years.We offer excellent pay and benefits for our team and have multiple crew members who have been with us for over 15 years.
Job Overview:
A skilled mason has the experience to cut, dress and lay stone, and who is proficient with both modern power tools and traditional hand tools. Masons can expect to work in all weather and with various materials, lift and carry heavy objects, and read and assess technical drawings. Their responsibilities include texturing of stone, installing dressed stone, preparing patios and walkways, laying natural stone and pavers, mixing cement and mortar, and restoring old and damaged masonry works.
Successful masons should have a love for traditional techniques, a keenness for learning, exceptional problem-solving skills, and should have a natural talent for working with their hands. Ideal candidates will have completed a three-year apprenticeship or equivalent field experience, and will be physically fit and able.

Key Responsibilities:
Maintaining tools and workspaces.
Cutting, shaping and dressing natural stone and pavers.
Lifting, carrying and placing prepared blocks, natural stone and pavers.
Reading and following technical drawings.
Training apprentices.
Mixing cement and mortar.
Restoring old and worn masonry.
See a project through from beginning to end.
Skills and Qualifications:
3+ years’ apprenticeship or equivalent field experience.
Love for working with natural stone, pavers and other hardscape materials.
Respect for the time honored traditions of the profession.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
Able to work 40 hour weeks in all weather conditions, overtime available.
Must be able to follow direction and communicate in English
Must have valid Rhode Island driver’s license
Must have reliable transportation to and from our shop, transportation to the job site is provided.
