Blue Acres Aquaculture is an ocean farm business based in Narragansett, Rhode Island. We are looking for full-time and part-time employees to join our team on the water year-round. We operate an oyster farm year-round and a seaweed farm from Fall to Spring.
Daily operations consist of:
- Sorting and preparing oysters for harvest
- Stocking cages and maintaining optimal densities
- Cleaning gear and biofouling control
- Building and repairing equipment
- Set up, seeding, and harvest of kelp lines
Qualifications:
- Experience on the water and/or a boating license is preferred, but not mandatory
- Must be comfortable working outside in all weather conditions
- Arriving on time and coming to work prepared for the day
- Capable of lifting 50lbs
- Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with seafood
The ideal candidate would be interested in learning to run a boat and take on daily operations.
