Position Summary
This is a 1st shift, full-time position Monday - Friday, though off-hours work may be required for snow removal and other projects.
The Custodian / Maintenance Tech will perform custodial duties and minor repairs, assist in sanitation control, grounds, housekeeping duties, and floor care.
- Perform cleaning and janitorial duties (warehouse, shipping, packaging, slitting room, pressroom bathrooms, and plant floor, cafeteria, and office area.
- Limited grounds maintenance (walkways, weeds, and trash pickup) and outdoor pickup.
- Keeps janitor’s closet neat and orderly. Report supply needs to Maintenance Supervisor and Plant Supervisor.
- Keep up a floor care program that involves but not limited to stripping, sealing and waxing floors
- Set up and tear down conference and meeting rooms, as well as offices, as needed. This includes arranging tables, desks, chairs, equipment, etc., to best utilize space, room amenities or according to occupant’s preference.
Required Education and Experience
- Some custodial and housekeeping experience preferred.
- At least one-year experience performing building maintenance.
- High School diploma or equivalent combination of training and experience.
Physical Requirements
- Finger agility, ability to push, pull and lift furniture, equipment, etc. as needed.
- Ability to carry tools, stand for long periods of time, climb steps, stoop, reach, bend and grasp objects.
- Physically able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, and reach.
