Newport Restaurant Group is looking for a Payroll and Retirement Manager to join our team!

About the Position: In the Payroll and Retirement Manager role, you will be responsible for oversight of the architecture and infrastructure of NRG’s payroll system. The Payroll & Retirement Manager ensures that the system is fully and optimally functional to meet the payroll needs of Newport Restaurant Group and the administration of ESOP and 401K plans.

About You: You are independent and able to prioritize tasks. You work well under pressure and have a high degree of attention to detail.

Essential Duties:

Maintain and evolve the company’s payroll system, including GL mapping, new business unit set up, regulatory compliance and infrastructure updates.

Work with the payroll administrator to ensure all federal and state requirements are met and keep the company in full compliance.

Prepare all payroll-related journal entries, including weekly payroll, weekly payroll reclass, payroll cash adjustments, accrued paid time off, paid time off reclasses.

Prepare and reconcile all payroll related balance sheet reconciliations and ensure variances are resolved timely including Accrued Payroll, Flexible Spending, 401K Contribution, Accrued Time Off, and Payroll bank account. Resolve issues and address issues to recurring issues.

Engage in weekly review of payroll process, ensuring an accurate, compliant payroll.

Act as stand in for Payroll Specialist when they are absent or otherwise engaged.

Communicate effectively and timely with all stakeholders of the payroll process.

Responsible for annual retirement plan administration for the ESOP & 401k plans

Work with retirement plan TPAs, auditors, attorneys, and Human Resources on corrections, testing and compliance.

Ensure compliance with all required ERISA and Plan Document staff communications i.e., Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary Annual Reporting, Summary of Benefit Coverage, Plan Descriptions, etc.

Generate and proof all required compliance ERISA reporting i.e., EEO1, Non-Discrimination, etc.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university

Five to seven years related experience and/or training

Two to three years of experience with direct oversight of at least one employee

Proficiency in MS products (word, office, excel, powerpoint etc.)

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Must be highly analytical, with tremendous problem-solving abilities

Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive compensation $90,000 - $120,000/Year!
