Newport Restaurant Group is looking for a Benefits & Leave Specialist to join the team.

About the Position: In the Benefits & Leave Specialist role, you will be responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, as well as the administration of FMLA, ADA and Workers Compensation.This position includes a hybrid schedule for regular work three days in the office, and two days working from home. Training up to role stability will be done fully in the office five days a week in our corporate office located in Warwick, RI.

About You: You are independent and able to prioritize tasks. You work well under pressure and have a high degree of attention to detail.

Essential Duties:

Ensures accuracy of all benefit enrollments in the HRIS and benefit carriers

Processes internal status changes and follows up with appropriate benefit updates

Processes open enrollment benefit plan and plan transfers

Prepares materials and provides benefit plan changes to employees

Administers and coordinates Tenure and Lifestyle Account Programs

Tracks and administers Flexible Spending and Health Reimbursement accounts

Reconciles benefit invoices and provides the finance department with account breakdown

Provides vendors appropriate documentation for life, pension, and disability benefit claims

Effectively manages FMLA and ADA programs, ensuring excellent outcomes for employees and company

Processes and administers all leave of absence and disability accommodation requests

Maintains accurate records for OSHA, FMLA, Workers Compensation Claims, Employee Leave Programs and other similar types of regulatory programs.

Ensures compliance with and manages 401k administration including enrollment, participant data, and termination

Issues all annually required notices for benefits, 401k, and ESOP to employees

Builds, maintains and generates HR metric reporting as well as ad-hoc reporting

Responds timely to employee and management questions regarding benefits or leaves

Provides support and assistance to the Payroll Specialist, including onboarding of new hires and rehires and payroll processing when necessary

Assists Benefit and Compensation Manager with annual retirement administration

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university

Three years related experience and/or training

Proficiency in MS products (word, office, excel, powerpoint etc.)

Skills & Abilities:

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Must be highly analytical, with tremendous problem-solving abilities

Be collaborative, using a team approach to creating an equitable workplace environment and have respectful working relationships

Compensation and Benefits:

Competitive compensation $24-$30/Hour - Based on experience
