Wanted - Caregiver to assist elderly woman at her home for probably no more than 2-3 hours a day. Female preferred, as duties will include helping to change clothing, etc. She is stricken with mild dementia and can be disagreeable at times, but can also be extremely pleasant and funny, depending on the weather, etc., or any of a number of given factors. Most of the time she is in a good mood, but it can be tricky to predict. Her mobility is also limited, so patience is a must. Potential candidates will have to agree to starting on a trial basis (for which they will be compensated) just to see how it goes, so to speak. A degree in nursing is not necessary, it is more important to communicate effectively and cultivate a relationship of understanding. Knowledge of English literature is a plus because that was her area of specialty before her memory started to go. Unfortunately she can no longer read books like she used to, but could enjoy discussing literary topics or being read to as long as her attention span will allow. She is quite a music fan as well (mostly classical & jazz). If you think you have the unique skill set to fulfill this position then please don't hesitate to apply.
