Kitchen Shift Leader Responsibilities:

Learn cooking methods, ingredient and equipment methods.

Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion

Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards to ensure all safety is taken while serving the public.

Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Organize yourself at the start of your shift:

Make sure all stations are set up properly

Make sure employees are properly busy and working on necessary activities

Steps of Service we expect:

Prepare and cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

Maintain kitchen staff uniform, cleanliness and appearance expectations.

Observe quality of food preparation and service

Things you should be doing during your shift:

Monitor sanitary operating practices. Keep prepared food labeled and rotated safely and correctly.

Maintain proper discipline in the Kitchen, making sure employees are productive and focused on their duties

Handle questions and inquiries from wait staff to ensure proper service, informing of allergies, and ensuring special requests are met or denied accordingly

End of shift:

Ensure proper end of night cleaning of each station and surfaces ensuring clean, sanitized areas done in a timely fashion

Ensure stations are properly closed for the night, food covered, put away correctly, labeled, dated and restocked when necessary

Floors are clean, swept, and mopped under equipment

Manage closing procedure for kitchen, dishes put away, dish station clean and empty, employees clocked out

General Requirements:

Must be able to stand for long periods of time with frequent lifting and bending.

Must be able to lift up to forty pounds.

Fast paced for kitchen environment.
