Windmoeller & Hoelscher Corp. seeks multiple Service Support Managers in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Responsibilities: Manage and coordinate approximately 20-member team of professional Field Service Technicians/Engineers including German parent company technicians responsible for providing technical engineering customer support for Windmoeller & Hoelscher (W&H) Printing & Extrusion machines – the team is responsible for servicing new machines under warranty after completion of installation and commissioning. Manage coordination with customers regarding parts, service support, vendor items and technical issues which includes evaluate and audit the W&H machinery and equipment at the customer’s plant and based on the findings, determine, and correct all existing or potential technical/operational issues; and develop and implement comprehensive plan to correct technical/operational issues which the audit detects. Work closely with in-house engineers responsible for remote diagnostics, in-house Parts Team, and customers to troubleshooting machinery or process related issues to ensure trouble-free operation of the W&H equipment – ensure that all customer queries are timely handled. Train Engineering Team members and provide ongoing guidance for technical engineering issues. Maintain and evaluate Key Performance Indicators (KPI). Maintain regular customer contact and provide German parent company R&D/Engineering Team with timely feedback on quality/design issues so that it can correct current technical engineering issues. Travel to unanticipated customer sites throughout North America (20%). Employee may be stationed anywhere in the continental U.S., but will report to headquarters in Lincoln, Rhode Island.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or related (or foreign equivalent).
Requirements: Two years’ experience as Electrical/Mechanical Field Service Engineer/Technician or related. Other special requirements include: Experience/skill set must include technical background in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering including drives, PLCs, HMIs, robotics, safety systems and communication systems; Ability to read and interpret electrical/mechanical schematics and technical documentation; Electric drives and control systems; Flexible packaging extrusion and printing machinery and processes including associated computer and electrical engineering systems; and Install and troubleshoot hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Willing and able to travel to unanticipated customer sites throughout North America (20%). Will only consider applications from “US Workers” (US Citizen, Lawful Permanent Resident, etc.).
