Description Robert Half is actively looking to hire an organized Accounting Clerk for a recognized company. Serving in this role, you will be responsible for multiple forms of data entry, matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, and playing an integral role in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). This is a long-term contract / temporary employment based in the Newport, Rhode Island area.Major responsibilities
Report financial facts to journals and ledgerst
Mend discrepancies by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as required
Overall accounting: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
Compose statements and reports that require utilization of a wide collection of sources
Collaborate with Accounts Receivable: apply cash receipt, process daily invoices/credit, and help with collection of past due balance
Group documents that require knowledge in determining proper classification of accounting codes and expenditure codes
Work with Accounts Payable: A/P invoice matching & filing, vendor invoices and disbursement filing Requirements - Data entry, document management, file creation and previous records experience required
Ability to multitask, collaborate and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds in a fast-paced environment
Accounts Payable (AP) experience desired
Expertise in Accounts Receivable (AR)
Proficiency in journal entries
Candidates with Spreadsheet and ERP system experience will be prioritized
AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
