Teaching Assistants may be eligible for a $1000 new hire incentive bonus if hired and meet all qualifications.The Transitions Program is an innovative curriculum developed by experts who believe that students are most successful when purposefully engaged in self-directed and experiential learning. Glade Run's staff work with a student's IEP team to develop and implement a transition plan. Parents also play an integral role in tailoring the program to the individual. Students are provided with guidance as they engage in skill development, meet employment goals, and improve independent living skills.REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor's Degree or Associate's Degree in human service, psychology, or education field; OR a High School diploma with experience working with children, adolescents or adults required, preferably in an education, mental health or social service setting.

Must have audio/visual/verbal skills to provide supervision for clients and to perform essential job functions.

Must have physical dexterity in order to assist in client physical interventions if necessary.

Must complete and pass agency Crisis/Physical Intervention training.

Must have the ability to continually exercise discretion and judgment in performing job responsibilities.

Must be able to adjust hours to job requirements.

Must have access to a telephone.

Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Must be at least age 21 due to need to transport students/clients.

Must be eligible for PA State Police Clearance, PA Child Abuse History clearance, FBI clearance and Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form.

POSITION PROFICIENCIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide exemplary coaching/teaching and related services to help students achieve transitional goals and be a flexible leader in order to support overall program mission.

Engage in treatment oriented, purposeful, and intentional interactions with students during classroom lessons/activities and community-based instruction.

Demonstrate the ability to appropriately use Therapeutic Crisis Intervention techniques.

Demonstrate the ability to use less restrictive interventions in a consistent and professional manner.

Display the ability to accurately assess and respond to students' individual needs.

Support the transitional needs of the students in the program.

Transport students in order to provide access to community-based activities, work or other related events.

Accompany students to work sites, post-secondary sites, and community-based sites per transitional goals.

Provide supervision, coaching, advocacy and monitoring while at the community sites.

Assist in tasks to support students learning of activities of daily living (i.e., cooking, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and travel).

Collect data and prepare reports regarding students' progress achieving transitional goals.

Demonstrate the ability to work with individuals, dyads, small groups and whole program to support community access, independence, and readiness for adulthood.

Work in collaboration with Transition Coordinator and Vice President of Educational Services to achieve goals of the program.

Assists teacher with classroom management.

Completes required paperwork in a timely fashion.

Maintains appropriate boundaries with students, staff and parents.

Builds healthy, therapeutic relationships with students.

Possesses professional communication skills that include awareness of all school communications.

Attends all required agency and program trainings.

Meets with Supervisor on a regular basis.
