Responsibilities:
-Diagnose and repair various large household appliances, including refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, washers, and dryers.
-Install, service, and inspect appliances to ensure optimal functionality.
-Provide excellent customer service and maintain a professional demeanor.
-Encourage customer feedback by providing them with business cards with a QR code linking to our Google Business page for reviews.
-Keep accurate records of repairs performed and parts used.
-Collect payment from customers at the time of service using a company-provided mobile card reader.
-Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex issues.
-Maintain the work van. Keep it clean, organized, and stocked with necessary tools and supplies.
Additonal Expectations:
-Non-smoking policy. Smoking is not allowed in company vehicles or on customer property.
Qualifications:
-Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in appliance repair.
-Strong diagnostic skills and the ability to work independently.
-Excellent communication skills to interact with customers and team members.
-Must be a team player. This role requires a willingness to occasionally assist with other tasks as needed, such as handling service desk duties (answering phones and scheduling service calls) or stepping in to install more complex appliances, like dishwashers, if the delivery team falls behind in their installs.)
-Knowledge of electrical systems and appliance components.
-Basic plumbing knowledge. Ability to connect and troubleshoot water lines for appliances such as refrigerators with ice makers, dishwashers, and washing machines.
-Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to work.
Employment Requirements:
-Employment is contingent upon signing a standard non-compete agreement.
-Whirlpool requires a drug screening and background check for technicians to be eligible to perform warranty work.
Compensation:
-Competitive hourly wage, $25+ per hour based on experience.
-Paid vacation and holidays.
-Company-provided work shirts – Technicians are supplied with branded work shirts and are expected to wear them daily as part of a professional appearance.
