Employees at York also perform a variety of manufacturing operations, including fabrication, welding, polishing and painting and produce a wide range of current and replacement parts for all models. Join our team as a Staff Engineer, Advanced Manufacturing.Job SummaryThe Staff Engineer Advanced Manufacturing will work collaboratively with Product Development and Manufacturing to yield innovative products and processes. The Staff Engineer Advanced Manufacturing plays a key role in the manufacturing process development and implementation and is responsible for supporting and delivering the Life Cycle Plan from concept to production at our various manufacturing plants. The role is focused on opportunities to influence design for assembly through the development of integrated manufacturing systems, standardized processes and templates, risk assessment and mitigation, and after action reviews.Job ResponsibilitiesLeads others to solve complex problems involving medium to large scale projects from concept to development, through capital funding planning and approval, and ultimately through successful implementation using analytical thought, exercising judgment and identifying innovative solutions.

Impacts the achievement of part design related to Design for Assembly, error proofing, fixture design, torque strategy development and incorporating quality improvement measures to drive results.

Resolves complex problems relating to "Should Cost Analysis" for new tooling and parts.

Demonstrated ability to effectively work with suppliers and recommend development of best practices to improve assembly methods and procedures.

Implements JIT and Lean Manufacturing principles (5s, Six Sigma, CI system, etc.)

Performs supplier technical assessments and implements supplier technical development plans

Works independently, requiring guidance on only the most complex situations.Education Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is PreferredExperience RequirementsRequired

Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience
