THE POSITION: To provide biostatistical support and leadership on a wide range of projects (ie, health economics/modelling, evidence synthesis, trial analysis, real world data, and/or value communications).ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our employees are tasked with delivering excellent business results through the efforts of their teams.  These results are achieved by: Supporting and/or leading a range of biostatistics projects related to HEOR including one or more of the following: indirect comparisons (e.g., NMA, MAIC), propensity score matching (PSM) studies, real-world evidence (RWE) and/or clinical trial individual patient data (IPD) analyses, simulation studies, feasibility assessments, Bayesian statistical, and/or other related HTA statistical approachesDeveloping subject matter expertise across statistical project typesSupport and/or lead company thought leadership activities on innovative HEOR statistical methods and biostatistical training for the teamLead and support execution on statistical aspects of projects, including coding, interpretation, and written communications, for one or more of the following:Protocols, statistical analysis plans, statistical analyses,technical reports, case report forms (CRFs), statistical analyses, abstracts, posters, manuscripts, presentations and other report typesSupport review and QA activities related to client deliverablesGenerate analysis datasets, tables, figures, and listings to support trial re-analysisSupport and/or lead strategic insights on methods designed to answer various types of client questionsImplement quality control activities related to statistical projectsEffectively communicate statistical methods and results in lay termsLead and/or support client calls as subject matter expertsOversee or coordinate data transfers with clients to ensure compliance with SOPs and maintain patient confidentiality.Coordinate between statisticians and IT to identify and escalate technical issues relevant to statistical analysis platform, including RStudio Workbench and BitBucketHigher utilization targets relative to managerial biostatistics streamSupport and/or lead company strategic initiatives for technical or statistics offeringsStay updated in the latest innovative statistical methodsCreate innovative code in R, Shiny, or other programming languages (eg, JAGS) as needed to support cross-team project work and enhance team efficiency.Delegating activities to and supervising junior staff and contractorsEmpower project team members to take positive action and accountabilityMentorship of direct reports in technical stream and delivering performance reviewsMay be assigned some billable time to support project managers or their delegates on matters related to project timelines, progress on deliverables, and scope.Supporting company strategic initiatives regarding technical or statistics offeringsSupporting technical elements / subject matter in proposals to clientsStay updated in the latest innovative statistical methodsSupport statistical thought leadership activities for the companySupport HEOR statistics for cross-solving and business development capabilitiesSupport repeat business through work quality and methods expertiseAttending strategically focused management meetingsEngage in hiring activities for biostatisticians, as required.Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias. All other duties as assignedPEOPLE LEADER People leaders must possess both the skills to effectively accomplish these tasks and the emotional intelligence to do so in alignment with our cultural values.  In addition to the critical management and leadership tasks listed above, this role also includes the following unique responsibilities:Provide guidance and support to other managers on interviews, supervision of staff, office management, and company policies and procedures.Provide guidance and senior support to other managers on scientific standards, work methods and performance standards; and performance relative to departmental objectivesResponsible for and oversee their respective department.Interview, select and supervise the activities of the department staff; communicate interpret and discuss with team the company policies and procedures.Determine job objectives, work methods and performance standards; review performance relative to departmental objectives discussion appraisal with each employee and performance; authorize and communicate salary changes, promotions, transfers, discipline, and discharge and administer all.EXPECTATIONS OF THE JOB:Travel: Some travel may be required for meeting with clients, stakeholders, or off-site personnel/managementHours: 40 hours per week; days worked with accommodate client meetings and be negotiated with supervisorOvertime and/or weekend/evening hours may be required to meet project deadlines
