Have you seen Robert Half's Full Charge Bookkeeper position? The short-term contract Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The role will be responsible for all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements. You will also be establishing and maintaining the organization's accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives.Your responsibilities

Maintaining historical records by filing documents

Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

Ensuring monthly, quarterly and year end close happens accurately and on time

Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable; handling collections as needed

Studying and adhering to federal, state, and local legal requirements, filing reports, and detailing needed actions to management

Supervising tasks of accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required, and associate degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

Highly capable of analyzing financial data and quickly creating accurate reports

3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

Possess strong organizational and follow-up skills

Knowledgeable of accrual and cash basis of accounting

Well-founded grasp of cash management

Experience with journal entries

Strong familiarity with billing

General ledger experience

Proven knowledge of bank reconciliations

Practical knowledge of Sage Software

Accounts Payable (AP) experience

General familiarity with month end closings

Prior payroll experience preferred

Capable of working independently with minimal oversight

Earlier work involving Excel, QuickBooks, and Peachtree

Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
