With guidance from the Director of Digital Fundraising, the Assistant Director of Volunteer Fundraising will play a key tactical role on Villanova University Advancement's Annual Giving team in optimizing the use of digital channels for all aspects of fundraising, with a specific emphasis on peer-to-peer advocacy and crowdfunding. In addition, this position will serve as the primary campus partner liaison for significant fundraising initiatives, including 1842 Day-Villanova's annual day of giving. As this role will interface with a variety of external constituents and internal stakeholders, it requires excellent communication, organization and collaboration.

For the Assistant Director of Volunteer Fundraising, we are seeking a team member who is passionate about volunteer management and engagement, thinks critically and creatively, translates analysis into actionable insights and will work diligently to advance and support Villanova's mission and values.

Success in this role will require drawing from internal data as well as applying best practices from higher education and nonprofit institutions. As a member of the Annual Giving team, the Assistant Director of Volunteer Fundraising will contribute to our shared vision for the University, fueled by the donor support, as we prepare for Villanova's next comprehensive capital campaign.

Peer-to-Peer Advocacy: Recruit, train, incentivize, equip and celebrate volunteer advocates who inspire support for Villanova, especially as part of 1842 Day-Villanova's annual day of giving-and Reunion. Become a subject matter expert in existing and expanding technology to best prepare volunteers for success. Serve as the primary advocate liaison, addressing volunteer questions, concerns and feedback. Collaborate cross-functionally to identify current and future avenues for volunteer recruitment. Integrate best practices in volunteer management to improve strategies and resources. Regularly assess and report on the impact of volunteer advocacy.

Support Digital Strategies for Solicitation & Stewardship: Support the planning and execution of 1842 Day, Reunion and other UA-wide initiatives with a specific focus on volunteer and campus partner engagement. Maintain relationships with campus partners and equip their advocacy efforts through resource development. Collaborate cross-functionally to address inquiries from volunteers and campus partners, especially when related to events and programming.

Social Fundraising: Manage day-to-day operations for crowdfunding campaigns, including project selection, website management and reporting. Serve as a consultant for solicitation and stewardship efforts driven by the benefiting unit and act as a technical resource. Identify opportunities to leverage crowdfunding year-round via benchmarking, industry-relevant research and analysis.

Support University Advancement initiatives such as Homecoming and Reunion Weekend. Assist with documenting processes and procedures as needed. Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Bachelor's degree required.

Two to four years of relevant experience required. Experience with volunteer management preferred.

The successful candidate will have a broad base of general knowledge and skills in digital technology as well as demonstrated expertise with current and emerging trends in digital engagement.

The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic and a demonstrated ability to work with others.

Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills required.

Must be well organized and with strong attention to detail.

Critical thinking and demonstrated comfort learning new technologies and systems required.

Solutions-oriented approach to work.

Knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams and Outlook required.

Knowledge of general office equipment, including personal computers required.

Knowledge and understanding of volunteer management and online fundraising strategies strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Salesforce or other CRM platforms and GiveCampus or other fundraising platforms preferred.
