The University is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer and seeks candidates who understand, respect and can contribute to the University's mission and values.The Assistant Director of Financial Assistance (AD) is primarily responsible for providing counseling services to a portion (approximately 20%) of current and prospective students and their parents, and will participate in the process of file review, verification, and awarding financial assistance to undergraduate students, and graduate students as necessary (excluding law and prospective transfer students). The AD coordinates the renewal of all university-sponsored academic scholarships including the warning/revocation letter process and crediting of funds.This position serves as the campus liaison for external applicants (i.e., students seeking to enroll at Villanova) through the Tuition Exchange Program. This position will serve as the back up in the R2T4 process. Other responsibilities include: In conjunction with team members, continually review, update and organize the office's Reviewing/Verification Guide; participate in professional development and training programs; and Represent the University and the Office of Financial Assistance through participation in on- and off-campus presentations and events.Duties and Responsibilities:

Participate in the process of file review, verification, and awarding of financial assistance to undergraduate students, and graduate students if necessary (excluding law and prospective transfer students.) Provide counseling services to prospective and current students and parents through scheduled as well as walk-in appointments.

Assist in the Return of Title IV calculations required for all on campus and on-line students keeping within all regulatory requirements. This includes tracking withdrawals, and confirming calculations made by the Associate Directors.

Coordinate the review and renewal of all Villanova-sponsored Academic Scholarships. Communicate with Deans, faculty and Senior Leaders regarding students' compliance with scholarship criteria. Coordinate communications with students regarding continuance or revocation of scholarship awards. Post all renewal scholarships on Banner.

Serve as back up for the Federal Pell program. Run monthly reconciliation, send and receive files toCOD, and manage weekly reports.

Serve as the Import Liaison for the Tuition Exchange Scholarship program, including compiling all information for each application, working closely with Admissions staff on the ranking process, and completing the Annual report for Tuition Exchange and awarding each applicant.

Serve on office's Communication Team to schedule timing of mailings, and customer service needs.

Work with team for the organization of the office's Reviewing and Verification Guide

Provide financial aid presentations to prospective and current students on- and off-campus.

Other duties as assigned by the Senior Associate Director and Director

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree required; Associates degree with relevant experience may be considered

Three to five years of experience in a financial aid office in an automated environment, working directly with students and parents.

Experience with all aspects of Title I aid administration and regulations required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree preferred.

Banner/Ellucian experience

Experience with the College Board'sCSSProfile and institutional methodology
