If so, Potter County Area Agency on Aging is looking for a highly organized and ambitious part-time Senior Center Operator 1 to assist with the planning and implementation of a variety of fulfilling enrichment activities for our senior population. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a Senior Center Operator 1, you will participate in the o rganization, planning, and scheduling of activities for older adults, in addition to overseeing daily operations of the senior center. Responsibilities include building a positive rapport with patrons to encourage socialization and participation in offered activities, organizing transportation for participants, scheduling monthly nutrition and educational programs, preparation and packaging of home delivered meals, and recruiting and training volunteer center assistants. This is a rewarding career which allows you to assist with promoting a healthy life style by keeping older adults socially active and providing educational and informative programs. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Part-time employment, 18-21 hours per week.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM with a 30-minute lunch. Scheduled work days for the Coudersport location are Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. Scheduled work days for the Ulysses location are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Some travel may be required.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Three months of experience in providing direct services in a human services, education or a community based setting to the aging population or to individuals from various cultures and socio-economic backgrounds or to individuals who have physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities; or

Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Potter County. If no eligible candidates who live within Potter County apply for this position, candidates who reside in Cameron, Clinton, Elk, Lycoming, McKean, and Tioga counties will be considered. If no eligible candidates who live within these counties apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
