In this role, you will coordinate with employers, employer associations, and business groups to develop and implement plans that facilitate the hiring of veterans and eligible persons. DESCRIPTION OF WORKA Local Veterans' Employment Representative promotes programs and services available to veterans through the commonwealth’s one-stop veterans’ service delivery system. This includes identifying employer staffing needs and referring qualified veterans to employer job openings. You will have the opportunity to assist employers with recruitment needs ensuring compliance to federal contractor policies through veteran placement. The ideal candidate will:
Maintain effective working relationships with internal and external partners at multiple organizational levels
Maintain knowledge of applicable workforce development laws and policies.
Provide services to businesses
Document activities and services in the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS)
Prepare reports
Attend required training
Travel as required
Communicate professionally, clearly, and concisely both orally and in writing

Full-time employment.
Work hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in PA CareerLink Pittsburgh Allegheny County.
Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of technical or paraprofessional employment services or veterans’ employer outreach work, and a bachelor’s degree;or
One year of experience interviewing the public to collect and identify customer needs, evaluating eligibility for programs, and researching data to make decisions, and a bachelor’s degree;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirement:
All positions must be filled by a veteran with preference in such appointments given first to qualified service-connected disabled veterans; then, if no such disabled veteran is available, to qualified eligible veterans; and if no such eligible veteran is available, then to qualified eligible persons as defined by Title 38, USC Chap. 41, Section 4101 (3-5).
