THE POSITIONThe Department of Military and Veterans Affairs has an excellent opportunity for a temporary laborer! In this position, you perform manual labor for the Division of Installation Maintenance at Fort Indiantown Gap. DESCRIPTION OF WORKLaborers work in state and federal buildings and surrounding grounds at Fort Indiantown Gap in Lebanon County. You perform general laborer work including grass cutting, assisting maintenance staff, and loading and unloading various items. Temporary employment, 37.5 hours per week through September 27, 2024.

Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements:

You must pass a favorable National Crime Information Center (NCIC) screening for admittance to Fort Indiantown Gap.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

Willing and able to work at Fort Indiantown Gap in Annville, Pennsylvania.

Willing and able to work outside, potentially in adverse weather conditions.

Maintenance experience.

Experience with hand mowers, riding mowers, weed whackers, shovels, rakes, and picks.

Experience with moving/arranging furniture in offices/meeting rooms, painting, raking/ shoveling/other outside labor duties, landscaping activities, trash pickup, lift/carry/move heavy items with or without assistance.

Possession of a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
