The Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution at Waymart is seeking someone highly motivated and creative with great attention to detail to join our amazing team as an Information Technology Generalist 1. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Information Technology (IT) Generalist 1, you will function as the facility’s primary support for IT. This position is responsible for providing a broad range of support for all IT related hardware, software, and systems within the facility (both networked and stand alone). Multiple local area networks are supported for the facility. The combination of networked and non-networked equipment, the wide variety of hardware and many varied peripherals, the multitude of both custom developed and commercial software, and the variety of platforms (desktop, laptop, mainframe, and server), and the intermix of business, education, and corrections security requirements for which support must be provided makes this a complex IT environment. You will perform systems administration, installing, and maintaining computer and network related equipment and software. You will have the opportunity to provide technical assistance to users and troubleshoot information technology problems as well as perform liaison duties. Staying abreast of current technology, maintaining software applications for facility use, and managing information technology related equipment and supplies will be of great importance in this position. Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $58,035 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year as an Information Technology Trainee or Information Technology Technician;or
Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services;or
One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, networking or desktop services, web site development or web site design, or other information technology support/administration services, and an associate's degree in any information technology field;or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.
