We are actively seeking a devoted and resourceful Architectural Consultant to join our Bureau of Operations. The purpose of this position is the responsibility of performing advanced consultative, professional architecture work for the Department of Correction on a state-wide level. DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs an Architectural Consultant, you are responsible for performing advanced consultative and professional architecture work on a state-wide level for complex multidiscipline projects as a member of the Central Office Bureau of Operations staff.Duties include assuming a leadership role in project phases, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding and negotiation, and construction administration. You review budget estimates and expenditures, project cost breakdowns, shop drawings, and other related information that is submitted. Your duties are performed with considerable independence with occasional supervisory review. Interested in learning more? Full-time employment, 37.5-hour work week

Work hours are 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: Y ou may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to three days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to an office in Mechanicsburg. Please note, telework agreements are subject to change.

Please be advised interviews will be conducted in person only. The interview location is 1920 Technology Parkway in Mechanicsburg, PA. No virtual or telephone interviews will be permitted.

This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 60 or 65.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Architectural Designer 2 ;or

Three years of professional architectural experience in building renovation or preservation and new construction for commercial, institutional, government, or educational buildings or structures, and a bachelor's degree in architecture, architectural engineering, or a closely related field which included major course work in architectural design ;or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement

All positions require active licensure as a registered architect by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania or a reciprocal jurisdiction; or an active certification as issued by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
