Utilize your accounting knowledge and analytical abilities to perform essential financial analyst functions and assist our office with determining whether an applicant can self-insure, administering the Self-Insurance Guaranty Fund, and handling self-insurance default situations. Experience the power of collaboration with our team! DESCRIPTION OF WORKThis Accountant 2 position actively participates in our dedicated team as a financial analyst, with a focus on reviewing and analyzing the financial statements, applications, and related documents of applicants to determine their eligibility for self-insurance. This involves utilizing credit rating software, recording financial data, and summarizing findings. Additionally, the role prepares, reviews, and verifies various financial reports, including annual compensation reports and runoff reports, and addresses any discrepancies with stakeholders. Furthermore, the Accountant 2 assists in coordinating the administration of the Self-Insurance Guaranty Fund, auditing expenditures, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. Other responsibilities include assisting with procurement processes, preparing cash flow reports, and maintaining records of credit card purchases. You may also have the opportunity to contribute to the development of accounting policies and procedures, collect loss data, and perform other duties as assigned by the division chief. Work Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year as an Accountant 1;or

Two years of professional accounting experience, and graduation from a four-year college or university, including or supplemented by fifteen credits in accounting.

Four years of bookkeeping experience and fifteen college credits in accounting may be substituted for college graduation.

A Master's degree in Accounting or a related field may be substituted for one year of general work experience.
