This part-time research assistant position with the Dairy Nutrition laboratory in the Department of Animal Science will start as soon as an appropriate candidate is selected. Main responsibilities will include laboratory processing and analyses of feed and animal samples, participation in and assisting graduate students with research projects with dairy cattle, samples and data collection, data processing, operation of laboratory equipment, managing undergraduate students, managing purchasing and invoices, managing laboratory inventories, reorganizing and maintaining order in laboratory, updating and reorganizing laboratory protocols and files on OneDrive, and other tasks related to general laboratory activities and dairy nutrition research. It would be preferable, but not required, for the candidate to have both laboratory and large animal experience. Individuals need to be detail-oriented, motivated, capable of working independently, and communicate well with the research team. The successful candidate for this position may be required to work extended hours and on weekends, when necessary. Individual will typically work 24 hours/week Monday-Friday and some weekends.
