This position gives you the opportunity to assure quality fiscal integrity and professional direction in the fiscal accounting and computer operations within Fayette County. Apply today to unleash your potential!DESCRIPTION OF WORKAs a County Fiscal Officer 1, you will be responsible for overseeing the accounting structure and cash flow, conducting financial and administrative audits, as well as evaluating and monitoring provider budgets and expenditure. You will have the opportunity to assist staff in the development and management of annual service contracts and assist with computer operations and programs in conjunction with other department heads. You will utilize your effective communications skills when you interact with county, state, and federal representatives in regard to the financial management of programs. Work may also include:

Supervising the maintenance of ledgers and cash books

Preparing and monitoring state reports related to tracking

Compiling financial and statistical reports

Reviewing work completed by the Fiscal Technician

Assisting in developing financial sections for annual needs/based plan and budget

Providing financial technical assistance to provider agenciesWork Schedule and Additional Information:

Full-time employment

Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

Five years of bookkeeping experience and six college credits in accounting; or

Two years as a Fiscal Technician and six college credits in accounting; orThree years of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business related associate's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or

One year of accounting and/or budgetary experience and a business-related bachelor's degree that includes six college credits in accounting; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training that includes or is supplemented by six college credits in accounting.

Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Fayette County. If no eligible candidates who live within Fayette County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.

This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
