THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, Fayette County Maintenance Office is seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. As an Accounting Assistant, you will perform complex clerical and administrative duties in the support of our county operations. If this opportunity sounds like you, apply today!DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this role, you will engage in various clerical and office tasks with a focus on accounting responsibilities, invoice management, and budget oversight. The role serves as the primary invoice reconciler for all county acquisitions, necessitating communication with the comptroller and vendors to address any issues. Additionally, you may undertake technical duties as required to support the operations of a County Maintenance Organization in Fayette County.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Uniontown.

Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or

An Associate Degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits of accounting.

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

Additional Requirements:You must be able to perform essential job functions.
