Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is seeking a full-time in-house HR Labor & Employment Compliance Counsel to join our team. In this pivotal role, you'll be the driving force behind our legal and compliance efforts, reporting directly to our North American HR Compliance Center of Excellence Leader.As our compliance champion, you'll navigate the complex landscape of employment law across North America, including the U.S., Canada, and the Caribbean. Join us in shaping the future of HR compliance at Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions! The responsibilities listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for this position. Salary Range: $145,000 - $155,000 USD Monitoring and Implementing Policies:  Ensuring that regulatory HR compliance policies, practices, and procedures are monitored, implemented, and certified.  Drafts, implements, and manages legal and compliance policies.Conducting Internal Audits:  Regularly performing internal audits and spot checks to ensure that compliance procedures are followed.Providing Compliance Advice:  Providing legal advice and counseling on a broad range of legal issues that arise with a goal of enabling the company’s objectives while managing legal and compliance risk.Recommending Policies and Strategies:  Recommending corporate policies and strategies that promote the company’s goals while complying with regulations.  Keeping Informed:  Keeping informed of relevant legal developments and assessing their impact on organisational processes, and driving implementation of continuous improvements to legal and HR compliance function.Labor and Employment Legal Support:  Collaborate with HR on employment law issues and handle employment litigation matters and claims.  Works with HR to enhance our practices to minimize employment law risk.  Manage legal disputes and litigation matters and implement liability avoidance initiatives.  Advises on potential complex business transactions, such as acquisitions.Developing Training and Education Plans:  Train and educate HR, employees, and various functions on legal, compliance issues, and policies.Contract Review:  Review, edit, interpret, and advise on various types of contracts (commercial, sales, supply, non-disclosure) from a labor and employment lens.
