TSH is looking for a positive, committed, and motivated individual who strives to keep the hospital grounds and facilities throughout the complex in good working order for the safety and relaxation of our patients.As a leading organization in the Department of Human Services, Torrance State Hospital is seeking to fill vacancies for full-time Semi-Skilled Laborers to support the maintenance and operation of the Facility Maintenance Department. As a member of the labor crew, the Semi-Skilled Laborer will work with a crew of maintenance personnel in all aspects of facility upkeep and repair. Safety is a high priority for our patients as well as for the employees of Torrance. Your responsibilities include taking care of lawns, flower beds, trees, and shrubs, as well as removing snow, moving furniture and supplies, cleaning roads and parking areas, doing minor road repairs, and assisting the maintenance and transportation department.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information:Limited Term Full-Time. This position is approximately 6 to 11 months.

The Department of Human Services provides excellent benefits, pay increases, paid leave and holidays, as well as opportunities for career advancement.

Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position requires overtime and travel as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITYQUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of experience in laboring work including the use of tools and equipment used in maintenance or construction; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.Other Requirements:

You must be able to perform essential job functions.Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
