Nurse LeaderUPMC Northwest in Seneca, PAUPMC Northwest is seeking a highly skilled & dedicated Behavioral Health Unit LEADER to serve as a role model in professional nursing practice. This position involves expertise in expert clinical practice, teaching and development, and evidence-based practice. Partnering with management, the LEADER will help foster a culture of excellence in patient care.Behavioral Health Unit Overview: This department features a 16-bed Acute Inpatient Unit and a 12-bed Extended Acute Care Unit, offering a fast-paced, dynamic environment. It provides comprehensive treatment through therapeutic groups, one-on-one meetings, recreation, and educational sessions. The team collaborates closely & participates in various engagement activities with patients, including an annual art show, unit garden, summer picnic, and appreciation meals. The staff are dedicated to dispelling the stigma around mental illness and advocating for appropriate care and treatment.Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Unit Director on employee evaluations, staff selection, hiring, and performance management
Provide education, training, and consultation to staff, ensuring effective orientation and ongoing development.
Apply advanced clinical knowledge and skills to achieve quality patient outcomes.
Use Relationship Based Care and the nursing process to meet patients' clinical, psychosocial, and spiritual needs.
Lead clinical nursing practice, identifying opportunities for improvement, and guiding change.
Communicate effectively to convey patient conditions and care recommendations.
Apply critical thinking to analyze and address clinical issues.
Manage and coordinate the unit's around-the-clock schedule.
Use performance improvement tools to enhance care quality and work environment.
Mentor and coach colleagues on cultural diversity and address workplace issues.
Promote continuous learning and share expertise within and beyond the clinical unit.

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience.
BSN required within 3 years (if not already obtained at hire)
MSN preferred.
Behavioral health experience preferred.
Strong relationship-building skills with executives, managers, physicians, staff, and patients/families.
Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with changing priorities
Exemplary clinical judgment, critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Physical ability for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and patient positioning.
Licensure and Certifications:
CPR/BLS certification within 30 days of hire.
Current RN license
