THE POSITION

The Department of Human Services, Selinsgrove Center, is searching for a Facility Safety Manager to ensure appropriate measures are in place to provide a safe environment for the people who live work and at Selinsgrove Center, the visiting public, and protection of Commonwealth property.Selinsgrove Center is located in a nice rural location just outside the borough and only a couple of minutes from town, area schools, and Susquehanna University. As a Facility Safety Manager, you manage the overall safety program at Selinsgrove Center including supervising fire safety to meet all standards required by the Department of Human Services, Department of Health, NFPA Life Safety code, and any other federal or state regulations.Duties include investigating vehicle accidents involving privately owned and Commonwealth vehicles on grounds and for Commonwealth vehicles off grounds, as well as reviewing and editing accident reports. You also maintain various emergency plans, participate in emergency drills and ensure employees are trained in safety procedures. In addition, you ensure environmental compliance by managing spill prevention, assist the Fire Safety Marshal, inspect buildings for hazards, evaluate maintenance work orders, and inspect maintenance records.Interested in learning more? Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday, with 30-minute lunch.

This position may be required to work occasional overtime, weekends, holidays and alternative shifts on a rotating basis.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:One year of professional experience in an organized accident prevention, fire prevention, environmental safety, or security program, and a bachelor's degree; or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Legal Requirements:A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.

This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
