Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation:

Prepare surfaces by washing walls, repairing holes, sanding rough spots, and removing old paint.

Apply primers or sealers to surfaces to ensure proper adhesion and durability of the paint.

Mask and protect areas not to be painted, such as trim, floors, windows, and other surfaces.

Painting and Finishing:

Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, and sprayers.

Mix and match paint colors to achieve desired results, ensuring consistency and quality.

Apply additional coats of paint as necessary to achieve the desired color and finish.

Safety and Cleanliness:

Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of protective equipment such as respirators, goggles, and gloves.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including the proper disposal of paint materials and cleaning of tools after use.

Ensure work areas are free from hazards and that all safety guidelines are adhered to.

Team Collaboration:

Work closely with other team members to complete projects on time and to the client's specifications.

Assist with training or mentoring less experienced painters as needed.

Collaborate with other trades (e.g., carpenters, electricians) to ensure smooth project completion.

Material Management:

Estimate the quantity of materials needed for each job and manage the supply of paint, brushes, and other tools.

Maintain an inventory of supplies and order additional materials as needed.

Project Documentation:

Keep detailed records of work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues encountered during the project.

Provide project updates to management and ensure that all work is completed according to the agreed-upon timeline and budget.

Quality Control:

Inspect work for flaws and imperfections and make necessary adjustments or touch-ups.

Ensure that all painting work meets the company’s quality standards and the client’s expectations.

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a painter, preferably in both commercial and residential settings.

Strong knowledge of painting techniques, spraying, materials, and tools.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.

Strong communication and customer service skills.

Physical stamina and dexterity for handling painting tasks, including standing for long periods and working at heights.

Additional Requirements:

Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Ability to lift heavy materials and equipment as needed.

Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when necessary to meet project deadlines.
