Confidence working with web-based applications and Microsoft Office products is expected.This position is for approximately 20 hours/week. The selected candidate will work Monday-Thursday and cover the closing shift (until 8pm). Days and hours are subject to change according to library usage patterns and departmental needs (e.g., over breaks and holiday periods).Responsibilities:Provide front-line support to assist library users with common borrowing, information, and technological needs.Oversee library space and perform closingduties.Oversee student workers during assigned shifts.Assist with outreach activities (e.g., planning, promotion, set-up, facilitation)Other duties as assigned. As part of a small team, staff in the library are cross-trained to complete duties in other areas as needed. This position is expected to work collaboratively with University Libraries and Penn State Schuylkill colleagues and departments.Required qualifications:Typical educational requirement is an associate degree or higher plus one year of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Ability to effectively and efficiently share knowledge with others through oral and written communication.Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills that enable positive patron and colleague interactions as well as successful collaborations.Demonstrated ability to learn new skills independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.High degree of reliability and accountability in managing tasks and responsibilities.Keen attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of work.Preferred qualifications:Previous library or public service experience is helpful but not required.Application requirements:Resume, cover letter explaining candidate's interest in the position and demonstratedqualifications, 2 referencesCompensation:$15/hourUniversity Libraries values diversity of thought, perspective, experience, and people, and is actively committed to a culture of inclusion and respect.
