Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a full-time Senior Nursing Officer. The SNO has administrative responsibility for nursing standards and practice regardless of the nurse's practice area or reporting relationship. Directs hospital nursing activities within the context of hospital policies and procedures. This position is accountable for the operations of the inpatient and out-patient nursing units and other defined ancillary departments and is responsible for the quality assessment, implementation, coordination and evaluation and standardization of system wide inpatient care.Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is a 45-bed hospital that serves rural and suburban populations in Roaring Spring, Altoona, and parts of Blair, Bedford, and Huntingdon counties. Sustain regulatory compliance/survey readiness CMS/TJC.Actively participates in hospital leadership functions.Collaborateswithhospitalleaderstodesignandprovidepatientcareandservices,includingavailabilityofsufficient, qualified nursing staff.

Develops,presents,andmanagesbudgetfornursingservices.GeneralResponsibilities:Develops, directs, implements nursing policies and procedures, nursing standards, and a nurse staffing plan.Develops,implements,andadministersnursingservicesbudgetandexpensecontrolsystem.Organizes,directs,andsupervisesdailynursingservicetoassureadequatehospitalcoverageandqualitycare.Partners/collaborates with hospital-based and contracted physicians/allied health providers.Recruits,interviews,evaluates,andhiresqualifiedpersonneltomeetpatient'sneeds.Participatesinthedevelopment, implementation and maintenance of the hospital quality assurance and improvement program through evaluation ofservices rendered, quality improvement, audit of medical records, patient visits, and counsel with hospital staff.Maintainscommunicationswithmedicalandadministrativestaffthroughparticipationinregularlyscheduledstaff meeting and involvement onhospital medical services committees.Evaluateslongandshort-rangeequipmentandsupplyrequirementsfornursingcarebyforecastingservicelevels andquantity of materials on hand.Directs, plans, and implements orientation and educational programs to promote staff training and development.Recommendsandparticipatesindevelopmentofnewpatientcareprogramsforexpansionofnursingcareservices. Minimum Education Requirements:

Bachelor Of Nursing in Science is required.MinimumWorkExperience:

3-5years’experienceata nursingdirectorlevelorgreater is required.RequiredLicenses:

Current nurse's license in the state of Pennsylvania or a current multistate license (MLS) from compact member states/territories required.RequiredSkills:Requiresa high level ofcriticalthinkingskills,decisivejudgment,strong communication skills,andtheabilitytoworkwithminimalsupervision.
