Job Description SummaryElectrical Field Maintenance and Automation Engineer will provide support, technical expertise and engineering solutions to support the metals business within the Power Conversion. In this role, you will own the resolution of post-sales technical customer issues at customer sites with accuracy, quality, and timeliness in order to meet customer needs and business goals.Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
Support trouble shooting of installed products at customer site, including accurate and timely settlement of all warranty claims from assigned customers
Execute on site project management and technical leader duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction
Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSE’s, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams
Advise the customer of recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell GE parts / services
Coordinate maintenance activities for the customer and plan for inspections
Provide support to engineering teams working on customer CMU’s projects
Perform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction
Provide on call support in response to customer calls for service
Ensure appropriate response and service is provided to customer
Complete timely service reports and other administrative requirements
Required Qualifications
Associates from an accredited university or Institution Associate's
Minimum of 5 years of experience within an engineering environment
Previous PLC Programming experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience with (automation, AC & DC drives, AGC and Level 2)
Desired Characteristics
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college
Ability and willingness to travel and work overtime, as required
Ability and willingness to possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and/or US Passport
Electronics, electrical and/or mechanical trouble shooting skills (hands-on approach)
Ability to learn software tool applications to support HMI and application changes
Strong computer skills with familiarity with MS Office, TCP / IP configuration
Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
Electrical maintenance experience
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong programming skills in ladder logic and function block PLC applications
