Overview:The Commercial Division develops and maintains client relationships with the largest and most complex customers of M&T Bank. The Commercial Incentive Compensation (IC) team provides operational and strategic support to business leaders within the Commercial Division. The team designs, communicates, monitors, and administers annual incentive compensation programs for nearly 1,000 employees to ensure they meet regulatory requirements while supporting the broader sales strategy of the Commercial Bank.This position will balance ongoing operational responsibilities with execution of special projects related to continuous improvement or adapting to changing market conditions. The role reports to the Manager of Commercial Incentive Compensation.Primary Responsibilities:· Demonstrate a thorough understanding of the Commercial Bank, including sales strategy, organizational structures, and key initiatives currently underway.· Lead internal partners within the business, such as Regional Heads of Commercial, to understand the current state of incentive compensation and make informed decisions on IC Plan design and payouts.· Create analyses and present findings/recommendations to business leaders to support effective decision-making.· Support the development of annual sales goals for businesses and individual sales employees.· Lead or support the execution of the annual Presidents’ Council Awards program to recognize top performing employees in the Division.· In consultation with human resources and external consultants, facilitate the completion of market studies to ensure incentive compensation is aligned to internal and external benchmarks.· Identify opportunities to improve efficiency or effectiveness of the existing IC program. Lead initiatives for the development of new processes or modification of existing processes.· Ensure clear documentation of all procedures and actions, as well as thorough record-keeping of IC plans and participants.· Keep informed of business and market trends that may affect the sales environment.· Provide guidance to junior team members to achieve business results.· Promote an environment that supports diversity and reflects the M&T Bank brand.· Maintain M&T internal control standards, including timely implementation of internal and external audit points together with any issues raised by external regulators as applicable.· Complete other related duties as assigned.Managerial/Supervisory Responsibilities:May support the Manager of Commercial Incentive Compensation in the supervision of new or junior-level analysts.Education and Experience Required:· Bachelor's degree and minimum of 4 years' related business line experience, or in lieu of degree, a combined minimum of 8 years' higher education and/or work experience· Previous work leadership experienceM&T Bank is committed to fair, competitive, and market-informed pay for our employees. The pay range for this position is $71,985.72 - $119,976.20 Annual (USD).
