Responsibilities and Duties
The following are items in order of priority:
1. Maintaining the safety of the building.
2. Oversee activity on security cameras.
3. When there is inclement weather, during hours maintenance is not available, maintain the driveway, all entrances and front walk. Including shoveling and applying salt where needed. Maintenance will handle heavier snow.
4. Sign in/out visitors, contractors, real estate agents etc.
5. Assist during emergencies (ambulance calls, evacuations during a fire alarm etc.)
6. Report any incidents that may occur on the property.
7. Checking the building during the shift. Doing a walk-through to check for any irregularities. This includes all common areas and parking levels.
8. Accepting and cataloging packages.
9. Overseeing large deliveries, move-ins/move-outs.
10. Manage access to the exercise room.
11. Maintain communication with the office staff, to receive messages or alerts about the building and activities within.
12. Maintain an orderly appearance, good hygiene, physical alertness and a pleasant demeanor during your shift.
13. Maintain the guard booth/station. (cleaning, sanitizing and organizing)
Qualifications
Minimum high school diploma or GED. Associates degree or higher is preferred.
Experience in the armed forces, prior security or similar is preferred.
Basic computer skills. Ability to send and respond to emails, phone calls and/or other electronic media.
Attention to detail, able to think and act quickly to emergencies, able to adapt to different personalities, patience and good listening skills. Able to receive constructive feedback professionally.
Any certifications that have to do with property management, security, real estate. Also prefer any OSHA or first aid certifications.
Able to walk up and down stairs, lift up to 50lbs, able to sit or stand for long periods of time, walk throughout a 9-story building.
