You will be working in a production environment, preparing artwork from designers to be produced in a conventional CMYK+ offset printing environment.
Familiarity with Adobe products, Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, and Acrobat, as well as with digital layout and prepress software will be required.
A good understanding of traditional stripping techniques such as spreads, chokes, masks and so on will be required.
A good understanding of color spaces will be necessary, RGB, CMYK, and Lab models.
An understanding of devices to measure the above color spaces, e.g. a spectrophotometer.
A good understanding of technology, MacOS, Windows OS, cloud storage, and file structures will be needed. Also needed, the ability to maintain, update, and problem solve issues on these platforms.
Strong organizational skills will be required.
Strong communication skills will be required. You will be required to communicate, in person, via phone and email, with customers and their clients. Communication with your team members, other department personnel and managers is critical as well.
Please be aware that this is not a designing position. Artwork is provided to us and then needs to be prepared for our production environment.
