Full job description
Friendly, helpful, kind. These are the qualities we are looking for in a ophthalmic technician to make our little work family complete. Eyepolis is a small Ophthalmology office and boutique optical store located across St. Therese’s Church in Munhall. Expert, personalized care with a small-town feel makes this a special place. We see 10-15 happy and adoring patients each day, most of whom we know by name (and favorite baked goods). Previous experience very welcomed but willing to train. If you are a motivated individual with a passion for eye care, we would love to hear from you.
Duties:
- Perform preliminary measurements on patients, including visual acuity, color vision - Assist with patient history taking and documentation of chief complaints - Instill dilating drops - Visual field testing - Answer patient phone queries
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a medical office or optical setting is preferred - Familiarity with scheduling appointments and verifying insurance information - Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality - Proficiency in using electronic medical records - Understanding of ocular anatomy and physiology - Patience with older patients a plus - Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with patients professionally
