Our Sous Chefs support the Executive Chef in overseeing and supervising kitchen staff while ensuring proper execution of all food items and standards of service.

The Sous Chef assists the Executive Chef in creating and developing menu items keeping with the restaurant’s theme.

The Sous Chef ensures all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to the restaurant’s recipes, portioning, cooking, and serving standards.

The Sous Chef acts as a back-up to the Executive Chef and fills in where needed to ensure guest satisfaction and efficient operations.

Required skills and qualifications to be a Sous Chef with Alta Via Market Square:

Must be at least 21 years old

Able to pass a background screening

5 years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook, and expediter

Able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen and dining room personnel and guests

Preferred skills and qualifications to be a Sous Chef with Alta Via Market Square:

6 months of experience as a Developmental Sous Chef or entry-level Sous Chef

Physical requirements for Sous Chef with Alta Via Market Square:

Able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours)

Able to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
