By providing data, insight, and analysis, we assist leadership and the university community in the financial decisions that fulfill its mission while maintaining a position of financial strength.Carnegie Mellon University's department of Finance is searching for a Senior Sponsored Research Accountant to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment.Your core responsibilities will include:Performing complex accounting activities in accordance with accounting principles and standards to control the organizations financial resources and ensure that it aligns with all relevant regulations, laws, and reporting requirementsProvide professional-level administrative and fiscal support within power-award sponsored project accounting environment and will be responsible for proactively managing the associated functionsCoach less experienced sponsored project accountants and help them resolve problemsOther duties as assignedFlexibility, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within the Finance Division. An alternate work schedule allowing for evening and weekend hours will be required on occasion.Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
