The Raw Materials Management Technician is responsible for leading activities related to supporting qualification of new raw materials and approving secondary raw material sources for the current product portfolio within the Packaging segment of the Performance Coatings Group. The incumbent will have opportunities to demonstrate leadership while providing support to internal customers such as management, manufacturing, technical, sourcing, sales, and quality.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Contribute to and design the execution of experiments, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
Comply with test methods according to set standards.
Document all formulation processes and lab testing.
Complete proper forms and documents when necessary.
Attend quality, safety, and technical meetings and seminars as necessary.
Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area.
Provide effective verbal and written communication of results or project status to stakeholders.
Function effectively in a team environment.
Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.
Organize work to use time efficiently and seek assistance on priorities for scheduling work.
Recognize routine requirements and select proper, simple procedures for obtaining desired results to solve problems.
Possess the ability to analyze data.
Independently perform basic tasks as outlined by supervisor or others.
Operate basic equipment.
May assist with more complex operations or tasks.
Uses computing tools to capture and record data.
Additional duties as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
High school diploma or equivalent of.
1-2 years of laboratory experience
Knowledge of basic math skills
Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication, and data analysis
Familiarity with scientific principles, products and/or processes
Mechanically inclined - comfortable operating fabrication and testing equipment
Organizational skills
Accuracy and attention to detail
Working knowledge of basic laboratory equipment
PC skills: Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook) and other applicable applications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree with 2 semesters General Chemistry
3-5 years of laboratory experience
Coatings experience
Application knowledge in coatings
